The UK and Scottish Working Longer Groups have worked collaboratively to develop resources for employers and employees.

These resources will help organisations prepare for the challenges that an ageing workforce will bring. They are easy to access, download and share with colleagues.

Improving your understanding of the NHS Pension Scheme: Information for HR teams Over 70 per cent of NHS staff will not be able to access their full pension benefits until they are in their mid to late 60s. Our information pack is designed to help HR teams fully understand the NHS Pension Scheme and its provisions from a strategic workforce planning perspective. This will enable HR teams to support staff to work to their later retirement age.

Information on the Early Retirement Reduction Buy Out (ERRBO) The 2015 NHSScotland Pension Scheme contains a provision to buy out the reduction that would apply if retirement benefits were claimed before normal pension age (NPA).  See the Scottish Public Pensions Agency factsheet on this subject for more information.
