Job Evaluation


The STAC Job Evaluation Sub Group has been established to provide guidance and assistance on job evaluation arrangements for Agenda for Change (AfC) staff, staff representatives and employers.  The sub group reports directly to STAC and will provide regular reports on progress and will escalate any matters of concern.

The role of this group is to maintain the integrity of the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation process, ensuring compliance and governance standards are maintained.   The key responsibilities of the group are as follows:

a)     To maintain the infra-structure of the job evaluation system in NHS Scotland. 
b)     To ensure that the key principles and governance of job evaluation is maintained as determined in the Job Evaluation Handbook.  This will include ensuring adequate training is provided, NHS Scotland Boards undertake monitoring and consistency audits as required. 
c)     To ensure the transparency and credibility of job evaluation outcomes:  all posts are matched and/or evaluated by appropriately trained matchers/evaluators and everything is recorded on the TURAS Job Evaluation System. 
d)     The group may if required provide advice and expertise in Job Evaluation and will maintain links with UK mechanisms and processes.
e)     To develop and implement a work programme based on an audit from the Boards and priorities allocated by STAC or STAC Secretariat.
